Cecilia graduated from the University of Sydney with a Masters in Physiotherapy after completing a Bachelor Degree in Exercise and Sports Science.
She is strongly passionate in the area of dance and performance sports, with more than a fifteen-year experience of competitive dance and performance both nationally and internationally, including the UK and the USA. Her background entails a certificate IV in performing arts as a scholarship student at ED5 International, trained in various styles including classical ballet, commercial jazz, contemporary, lyrical, musical theatre, tap and burlesque.
Cecilia has always had a strong focus towards continued professional development and broadening her clinical knowledge, with the successful completion of Mat-work and Reformer Clinical Pilates, Dry Needling courses and ongoing progress in the McKenzie’s Method. Further interests of development include Dance Physiotherapy and Women’s Health.
Cecilia’s depth of knowledge in dance, alongside her manual therapy and aptitude for exercise prescription, permits an all-inclusive approach to treatment for a variety of injuries. She has a genuine desire for helping patients achieve their goals and return to pre-injury function. Cecilia’s approach to physiotherapy is based on empowering the individual with the knowledge of how their body moves. It is a collaborative journey out of pain into performance through hands on treatment and self-management strategies.
